The Crowley County Board of Education sponsored the 5th-grade class, allowing them to attend this amazing event. Students were taught many topics and life skills such as free enterprise market, supply and demand, checking accounts, debit cards vs. other cards, writing checks and withdrawals, keeping a register, branches of government, and voting. At school, they had to complete many lessons to prepare for the actual day of AmeriTowne. The students had to interview for jobs and then went to a mock town where they had to complete their jobs just as an adult would. The Crowley County 5th grade class got numerous compliments from the Young AmeriTowne staff for how prepared they were and their exceptional behavior during this event.
